Welcome to the UTS Photographers’ Society, Exposure. With imagination in hand and passion in our hearts, we distil and preserve the essence of each moment passed. We are a group of individuals who seek to improve on all forms of photography through the sharing of our passion, knowledge and skills. It does not matter what kind of camera you use. With enthusiasm and determination, anyone can master the tapestry of light.
Whether you are a returning member or this is your first time joining our club, we are all photographers who love photography and that’s the way it should always be. Together as a whole, we can help each other surpass our individual limits, regardless of one’s level of skill, knowledge or talent. It does not matter what you use to take your picture, as long as you work towards taking better pictures.
Over the duration of our club’s existence, we have ventured beyond what we could have anticipated. Last year our club, while still a generally new club, managed to organise a Tri-Alliance with the photography societies of University of Sydney (USYD) and University of New South Wales (UNSW) to bring our shared passion together and to provide our members with a wider range of events.
Through our dedication towards our members, we reached out towards various companies for sponsorship, and managed to get onboard large international companies such as Nikon, Apple, and Adobe. Special thanks to Nikon on Broadway and CompNow for helping us get these sponsors. Through these sponsorships, we have provided the material and content that you hold within the bag that you received this letter. With the events and vision that we, your executives for the year 2009 have, we hope to expand on our sponsors in years to come.
With collaboration from our sister societies, we anticipate over 100 events for you in the next two semesters of university, ranging from monthly photography expeditions, photo reviews, competitions, exhibitions, workshops and casual outings. We hope you enjoy your time with Exposure and we look forward to seeing you and getting to know you at our events.
